A Movie Star, Rock-Star & Mentalist...

So a movie star, a rock star, and a mentalist walk into a bar…

With an opening line like that, there can be no doubt that this event is going to be an evening of epic proportions!

Aside from being part of an amazing lineup, the cause is just so worthy. If you haven’t heard of the African Children’s Choir, here’s a link. ACC was founded in 1984 and is a large choir made up of children ages 7 to 12 from several African nations.

Since its inception, the choir has included children from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana. Many of the children have lost one or both parents to AIDS and other poverty-related diseases, and all of them are victims of extreme poverty.

The children’s choir will be performing at this very same event.

So how did a Mentalist from Sydney, Australia end up in such a lineup?

If you follow my blogs or happen to have seen my work, you may well be familiar with the fact that I worked on XMEN as a consultant and trainer to Gambit, played by Taylor Kitsch.

Early this year a very different email came in from my old friend Kitsch. Taylor told me about the ACC and their cause. I heard about his travels to Africa and his goals with the choir and mentioned that he was once more hosting a gala evening in Texas.

Taylor went on to ask if I would join them this year to perform alongside Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas and bring my style of “magic’ to the event.

After hearing about the work the ACC does and how genuine their cause is, performing alongside a movie star, and a rock star, and simply the thought of catching up with my old friend again, it was clear that my response was a pretty clear “YES!”.

I can’t think of many better ways to bring in the new year, then doing what I love, with people I respect, with a friend I’ve not seen in years, in a place I’ve never been to, for such a good cause…

For me personally, it is the perfect end to an amazing year of consulting for TV shows, featuring in other TV shows, being a guest on TV  and radio chat shows, preparing a podcast for the largest podcast company in the world, booking a record number of corporate event performances, expanding my repertoire as a corporate speaker, and simply watching my life evolve.

I can feel an even stronger 2018 knocking at the door and am ready to bring the goods in the new year.

The good folk from Austin, Texas are in for a treat as I have prepared a very special stunt in particular for this event.

This event is going to be a night that will never be forgotten…
